The Brighton District Court recessed yesterday after hearing arguments on a complaint that one State Senate candidate in last weeks Democratic primary allegedly assaulted another candidate's brother.
Judge Charles J. Artesani said yesterday that he would decide within a week whether he would schedule a trial on Joseph Hogan's complaint that David Wylie assaulted him two weeks ago at a Brighton shopping center. Hogan is the brother of John Hogan '73, a Democratic candidate for State Senator in the Second Middlesex District race last week.
The hearing was brief, lasting only ten minutes. Both Wylie and Hogan told their accounts of the incident and Artesani instructed both parties that he would delay his ruling until later in the week.
