In a sweeping victory yesterday afternoon, the Radcliffe tennis team won all seven matches against Bradford Junior College, raising its season's record to 3-1.

"I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat." Coach Perla Hewes said after the match. "It's been a long time since I've known what it's like to win--and we swept them, 7-0."

Radcliffe's strong singles contingent captured every set. First singles Meg Morgan won the first set 6-1, gaining a tougher 7-5 victory in the second set. Joy Skon, at number two, posted a easy 6-3, 6-0 victory, while Jill Robertson won a sound 6-2, 6-2 match over her Bradford opponent at number three. Ingrid Seapuu rounded out the singles, with an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win.

The Radcliffe doubles continued the onslaught against the Bradford team. Claire Stuart and Kathy Agoos showed their competence in first doubles by trouncing Bradford's first doubles 6-2, 6-0. Second doubles Ellen Rouse and Terri Steiner lost their first set to Bradford 3-6, then in a strong comeback won the next two sets 6-3, 6-4. And in a great finish. Ruth Ehrman and Mo Crane overwhelmed the Bradford third doubles 6-1, 6-3.

Scout's Honor

The team's strong playing both yesterday, and in their 7-2 win over Boston College Saturday will be put to test tomorrow. The entire team faces Pine Manor, a strong opponent.

"Our scouts tell us they're tough". Coach Hewes admitted.
