The National Organization of Women and the League of Academic Women have filed charges with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare against the University of California, charging that university with discrimination against women in hiring.
The university said it was in the process of correcting all problems of job discrimination on the basis of sex.
The California suit follows similar complaints filed against Harvard and the University of Michigan more than a year ago.
