Crimson Fencers End Dual Season With Yale Match

The Crimson fencing team closes its dual fencing season this afternoon with a match against the Yale Elis at 2 p. m. on the main floor of the IAB. The outcome will determine which of the two teams finishes in fourth place.

"It's going to be really close," Crimson co-captain Larry Cetrulo said last night. "They have a strong foil team, a weak saber team, and tall epee fencers." The Crimson will start its first string in the match.

Both the Crimson and the Elis have lost matches to the same teams in the Ivy League, and against Penn and Princeton the final scores have been identical.

The match will occupy the center portion of the IAB's main floor for the first time in Crimson fencing history. "It's not necessarily because of the importance of the match, however." Cetrulo said. "The wrestlers finished their dual competition last week, so they aren't using the floor."

Cetrulo, co-captain Mickey Irvings and All-American Tom Keller will be fencing in their last dual match for Harvard.
