The Radcliffe Hockey team, despite the absence of five of its members, easily whipped Lasell Jr. College 5-0 Thursday. Lasell offense did not break into the scoring circle once during the game.
Both teams played sloppily in the first half and committed large numbers of fouls. Radcliffe's front line passing was somewhat uncoordinated. However, during the second half, Radcliffe improved its passing and had a chance to show off one of its best maneuvers in the short corner situation.
A good pass from the right wing to the right inner led to the first goal scored by Sally Forrester. Mary Lightbody made the other goal of the first half.
During the last minutes of the first half, Lasell called time out so that an injured player could leave the field. They played with 10 people throughout the rest of the game.
In the second half, Nancy Cochran scored in one of Radcliffe's six short-corner plays. Mary Lightbody and Sally Forrester both scored again in the second half.
The defense played close to the offense and contributed to the large number of Radcliffe rushes. Sympathy is extended to the Radcliffe goalie who grumbled after the game "I never even got near the ball."
The Radcliffe team will play Pine Manor Jr. College this Tuesday and extends an invitation to all brave Harvard men to a game on the Radcliffe quad this Thursday.
