"The regular freshman quarterback two years, ago. Purrington separated his right sholder last fall before he had a chance to display his talents. He saw most of his action with the junior varsity and had a big day against the Princeton Jayvees, completing 13 of 26 passes for 120 yards. He passed for two touchdowns and ran 76 yeards for a third in Yale's 25-0 victory. More performances like that could have the slim Vurginian in the thick of the varsity action.
Including a pressurized performance against Harvard last year. Purrington hit on 6 of his 17 varsity passes for 60 yards. A cool operative whose running improved greatly as a sophomore. Purrington has a strong arm and a quick release."
