The Ivy League front office picked Cornell's Ed Marinaro as "Ivy League Back of the Week" after his 146-yd. performance against Harvard, Saturday. The Big Red senior averaged more than four yards per carry and raised his two-game Ivy total yardage to 290 yds.
Against Harvard, Marinaro carried for 50 of Cornell's 63 yds. in the winning touchdown drive. Marinaro tallied the go-ahead score with a 15-yd. jaunt through the Crimson line.
The Heisman Trophy candidate still leads the nation in total rushing with a 199 yds. per game average. He needs only 238 yds. to break Steve Owen's NCAA career rushing record.
