Matmen to Face 4 Teams In Virginia Meet Saturday

Racked by injuries. Harvard's varsity wrestling team will enter a quadrangular meet Saturday at Blacksburg, Va., with a shuffled lineup that will force three regulars to higher weight classes.

The meet, hosted by Virginia Polytechnic institute, also includes Auburn University and North Carolina State University. Auburn will offer the Crimson its toughest competition in the tournament. Both North Carolina State and Virginia Tech have already been beaten by the University of Virginia, a team Harvard soundly romped last month, 20-8.

Harvard's main problems going into the meet stems from a knee injury suffered Wednesday by 190-lb Dave Scanlon. His replacement, senior Tony Rayner, whose toothache was just diagnosed as an infected jaw, will also be unavailable for competition for at least a week.

Faced with this problem, Harvard coach John Lee has been forced to move three of his highly talented middle weight individuals up a weight class. Collin Mangrum, who usually wrestles at 158-lbs., will advance to the 167-lb, category. Mark Faller will jump to 177-lbs., and Rich Starr moves to 190-lbs, to replace Seanlon.

Filling the gap at 158-lbs, is senior Mike Slutzker. Slutzker was used sparingly last season but, according to Lee, has been quite impressive lately.
