Radcliffe Swimmers Win In Meeting of Four Teams

Double wins by three swimmers led Radcliffe to a convincing victory in a four-team meet last week at Mt. Holyoke in South Hadley.

Radcliffe's point total of 99 was 23 points better than North eastern's total. Mt. Holyoke (69) was third, and Brandeis (46) was fourth.

Roanne Costin was the meet's top performer, setting pool records while winning both the 100-free (59.6) and the 200-free (2:11.1). Radcliffe's other double winners were Julie Anderson in the 50-breast and the 100-breast and freshman Connie Cervilla in the 50-fly and the 100-IM.

All three were on the medley relay team which set a pool record of 2:09 over 200 yards. The 200-free relay team also established a new mark, finishing in 1:54.3.

Two others instrumental in the Radcliffe triumph were Sandy Wallace and Jeannie Sinnott. Wallace volunteered to be her team's diver and, despite having no experience, finished third. She earned two fourths and a sixth in other events. Sinnott, besides swimming in the freestyle relay, had a third, fifth, and sixth in three individual races.
