Boston Cast of 'Hair' Must Dress or Leave

The Puritan Ethic scored a partial victory over the Sexual Revolution yesterday.

The cast of Hair, now playing in Boston at the Wilbur Theatre, will have to wear some minimal clothing and curtail its overt sexual activity, if it wishes to continue its run.

The show's producer and cast had recently sought an injunction to prevent Suffolk County District Attorney Garret Byrne from prosecuting them for an allegedly immoral performance.

Discreet

The Supreme Judicial Court granted the injunction, but only on the condition that the cast stage a somewhat more discreet performance.

The show's straight theatrical merits may ultimately compensate for the lack of nudity and sex, but as one voyeuristic ticketholder said, "My ticket just depreciated five bucks."
