Cornell's national powerhouse hockey team wrapped up its fifth straight Ivy League title Wednesday night with a 9-3 victory over Harvard, but behind the Big Red there is still a scramble for second place.

Surging Brown, with four consecutive League triumphs, moved into the runner-up spot last week with an 8-2 victory at Yale, and unless the Bruins lose at Penn next Wednesday, or to Dartmouth a week from tomorrow, Harvard will be unable to catch them.

Meanwhile, the Crimson seems fairly secure in its possession of third place. Only Dartmouth, with a 4-5 Ivy record, has a realistic chance of tying Harvard, and the Green has games at Cornell and Brown remaining.

Yale, tied for fifth place with Penn after losing to Brown and Princeton, has a pair of games with Harvard within the next week, and could conceivably be overtaken by last-place Princeton if the Tigers can beat Dartmouth tomorrow.

Brown's Curt Bennett leads the individual scoring race with 23 points.
