In this second outing of the season, Harvard skier Chris Ferner won the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Trophy yesterday in a jump off in a meet held at Bear Mountain, N. Y.
Ferner, a junior, won class B with jumps of 154 and 144 feet. His third leap-146 feet-on the 50-meter hill gave him a total of 208.6 points, enough to win the trophy, which goes to the jumper with the highest point total among the top six competitors.
In late December at Lyndonville, Vt., Ferner easily won class B. and, as a result. was invited to the national training camp at Lake Placid, N. Y.
Coach Bill McCollom considers Ferner, who was also on Harvard's second-ranked soccer team, to be the team's best jumper. Last year, he placed 24th in the NCAA jumping competition.
