Ray Hornblower, Gary Farneti and Rick Berne returnned to football practice yesterday after missing Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage with slight injuries.
The return of these three standouts should bolster the Crimson, hampered by a series of minor injuries, for its tilt against an improved Holy Cross eleven Saturday.
Hornblower, the most explosive runner from last year's squad, practiced with a tender but improved bruised leg.
Headhunter
Berne, nursing a weak knee, worked out at his defensive tackle position yesterday. Berne, who injured his knee as a headhunter his sophomore season, figures to be an important deterrent to the strong Holy Cross backfield and unbalanced line Saturday.
Junior linebacker Gary Farneti returned to practice after missing scrimmage Saturday with a bruised leg.
Linebacker Dale Neal, though he did not practice yesterday, is expected to play Saturday. He is recovering from bruised ligaments in his leg.
Scrimmage Injuries
The Saturday scrimmage was not without its injuries. Offensive guard John Cassis left the scrimmage with a injured ankle. Since there seems to be a lack of depth behind Cassis, this loss could be a serious blow to the offensive line.
