The Crimson lightweight crews will test M.I.T. and Dartmouth on the Charles today in the Biglin Bowl.
In a three-way contest last week the M.I.T. varsity beat the Yale varsity by half a length, while Dartmouth trailed behind. Harvard enjoyed rather easy rowing last week, defeating Columbia's crews by about five lengths in each race.
During the week Dave Tyler took over the number two seat on the Crimson varsity from John Smart, who will row seven in the J.V. boat today. Dave Harmon will continue as stroke for the varsity, while Tom Dreyer will set the pace for the J.V.'s.
Harvard has won the Biglin Bowl for the past four years. M.I.T., which won the Bowl in 1963 and 1964, should be a strong contender again this year, according to Harvard coach Stephen Gladstone.
Harvard's first freshman crew, stroked by Jim Richardson, will meet one of its toughest challenges of the year today from an M.I.T. crew which beat Yale by 12 seconds.
