Gallagher and Dover Gain All-Ivy Honorable Mention

Harvard's Chris Gallagher and Dale Dover received honorable mention on the Coaches' All-Ivy Basketball team announced yesterday.

League titlist Princeton dominated the selections with two men on the first team and one on the second and runner-up Columbia also placed two men on the first team.

Tiger senior guard Jeff Petrie, who won the scoring championship with 335 points, and Lion junior forward Jim McMilliam, who was a distant runnerup in that department with 276 points, were repeaters from last year's first team and unanimous selections.

Princeton's John Hummer. Columbia's Heyward Dotson, and Pennsylvania's Dave Wohl rounded out the first team.

The coaches picked a young second team with two sophomores and a junior. Yale sophomore Jim Morgan, Pennsylvania sophomore Steve Bilsky, Dartmouth junior Alex Winn, Cornell senior Walt Esdaile, and Princeton senior Chris Thomforde made up the second team.

Gallagher, last year's leading scorer and the third leading rebounder in the Ivies, started the season plagued by minor injuries, but he nevertheless finished as the Crimson's top scorer in Ivy competition with 202 points and a 14-4 average.

The senior forward finished his Harvard career as the Crimson's eighth leading scorer.

Dover, a sophomore standout, scored 190 points in Ivy play for a 13.6 average.
