Harvard's Yardling soccer team perse-vered yesterday afternoon, scoring three goals in the fourth period to defeat Andover, 4-1, on the Business School field. Conditioning and ball control were the decisive factors as the Crimson wore down a gritty Andover defense.

The Crimson began to pressure the Blue goal in the third period then produced the winning margin with its fourth-quarter barrage. Meanwhile, the Yardling defenders had only to turn back occasional Andover fast breaks in the second half.
Freshman coach Dana Getchell was indifferent to his team's overall performance. but did say, "I thought we played with a little more pizazz than we did against Dartmouth." Dartmouth snapped the Yardlings unbeaten string at 26 games with a 1-0 defeat last Friday.
Andover ?allied first after only a minute and a half of play when Elmer Rynne pushed a clean shot past Harvard goalie Peter Aschaffenburg to cap a fast break. Henry Sideropoulos countered for the Yardlings two minutes later after taking a lead pass from wing Bobby Auritt.
Harvard attacked the Blue goal with venom after halftime, but aggressive play by Andover's coachkept the score even through the third period. With three minutes gone in the last stanza, Sideropoulos broke the deadlock when he slammed home his second goal from 12 yards out after another assist from Auritt.
Chris Papagianis took a pass from left wing Demetrio Mena two minutes later and powered the ball past the Blue goalie to end a personal scoring drought. Auritt tacked on the fourth tally with three minutes left to play when he slid into the Andover goal with the ball and a Blue fullback after receiving a cross from Mena.
