Weekly Sunday afternoon services for people who don't like to go to church but still believe in God will begin April 14 in Memorial Church.
Each of the non-denominational, hour-long programs will attempt to make religion relevant to some contemporary secular issue, organizers John T. McLoughlin '70 and Thomas B. Campion '70 said yesterday.
Programs already planned include a folk music concert and a debate about Black Power. "We will try to make the services flexible and interesting," McLoughlin said. He added that he hopes other interested students will volunteer to prepare future services.
Audience Response
Regular features of the services will be devotional and secular readings, silent meditation, and programs encouraging the audience's response.
The group has already obtained the use of the Radcliffe Room in Memorial Church and also hopes to receive a grant for its project from the United Ministry of Harvard, McLoughlin said yesterday.
