24 Win Wilsons Without Stipends

Seventeen Harvard and seven Radcliffe students have been designated Woodrow Wilson Fellows for 1968. This is a sharp decrease from the 32 grants last year and the 46 in 1966.

This year the fellowships carry no guarantee of financial assistance. The Ford Foundation, financial supporters of the Wilson program in past years, has reduced its contribution from 1967's 52 million dollars to 1.2 million this year.

Funds will be provided for only 150 fellowships. Over 1100 fellows have been named. Aid recipients will be chosen in April.

Nationally, the number of candidates for the fellowships declined by over 1900 compared to last year; Harvard nominations were down by 25 per cent.

The following Harvard seniors have won Wilsons: Daniel J. Beller, John A. Buehrens, Richard W. Burrill, Peter H. Calkins, Christopher C. Dahl, Jacob S. Egan, Sheldon Frank, Harry K. MacWilliams, Richard H. Meadow, Richard H. Schoolman, John F. Seegal, Alexander Shoumatoff, Frank M. Snowden III, Randall D. Weiss, David P. Wofsy, Erik O. Wright, and Kenneth R. Wulff.
