Yard Tankers Set Marks; Icemen To Meet Andover

Hockey

A weakened Harvard freshman hockey team faces one of the most potent offenses on its schedule when it crosses sticks with Andover at 4 p.m. today in Watson Rink.

Snake-bitten by injuries, Harvard will go into the game without the services of second and third line centers Steve Owen and Joel Baumgartner. Both were hurt in last Saturday's 8-2 romp over Princeton.

The loss of these two will force Harvard to change its strategy much more than for previous contests. "The first line will continue to forecheck, but the other two lines will play a more defensive game," said Coach Eugene M. Kinasewich.

Owen, who consistently came through with timely goals and assists received a deep gash on the akle. His scoring punch will be sorely missed as Harvard tries to stretch its record to 10-5.

Baumgartner suffered a severely fractured jaw when he collided with another player. A strong backchecker, he played an aggressive game, and his absence hurts the Crimson defense.
