The Harvard hockey team journeys to Princeton today to play a Tiger sextet touted as the best in a decade.

Princeton is playing hockey with the gusto of a kid who just stood up on skates for the first time. The analogy isn't far from the truth: until this year, the Tigers were everyone's patsy in the ECAC, but now they have a 9-6-1 record with impressive wins over B.U. and R.P.I.

Harvard has already beaten Princeton 5-3 in Cambridge, but the Tigers have coalesced as a team since then, mounting a powerful attack behind center Terry Peterman and wings Jerry Kearney and John Ritchie.

But Harvard has gelled, too, and rides a six-game winning streak, with the big Beanpot showdown with B.U. coming up on Monday. Harvard's tendency has been to go flat for the second Princeton game and lose, as in the past two years, to inferior Princeton teams. This time, against a genuinely dangerous oponent, they'd better be more careful.
