To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
In the CRIMSON on Saturday, December 14, I was quoting as predicting that "students would be regular members of all faculty committees by June" in the Law School. I made no such prediction.
The meeting reported was arranged by the Joint Student-Faculty Committee of the Law School to discuss ways and means by which student views could be ascertained on issues that are of interest to students. Two faculty committees now have student groups with which they are actively working and two others would welcome similar arrangements. The work of faculty committees varies widely in the degree to which the interest of students is involved. The problems in selecting interested students and otherwise ascertaining student opinion are extremely complex. As your reporter stated, the meeting was indeed "indecisive." It provided no basis whatever for making the statement attributed to me. John P. Dawson
