Dunster House played its best tackle football game in two years as it shut out hapless Winthrop 20-0 under the lights on Monday, but undefeated Eliot won its third game to remain in first place.

Halfbacks Dan Copans and Heber Driar and fullback George Mekras each ran for a touchdown to account for Dunster's scoring. B. F. Lopucki stood out on defense as he intercepted two passes for undefeated Dunster.

Eliot's John Read scored a touchdown and the Jumbo defense thwarted two drives at their own five-yard line, as the league leaders edged Quincy, 6-0, Monday. Winless Quincy controlled the ball most of the game, but, tiring late in the contest because it had no substitutes, allowed Eliot to score.

Can't Score

Adams was undefeated in its two games this week, but did not score a point. Adams battled Dudley to a scoreless tie on Monday, and repeated the trick against Dunster yesterday.

Kirkland moved ahead of Adams into second place, as its gridders squeezed by Lowell House, 6-0, in another low-scoring game. Lowell's George Olive said his squad felt they had played a better game than K-House. Lowell pushed inside Kirkland's ten-yard line four times, but failed to score. Kirkland tallied only after recovering a fumble on the Lowell 15.

Winthrop continued its losing streak yesterday as Leverett routed last year's Strauss Cup Champions, 16-0. Ron Kram got the Bunnies off to a quick start as he scored the first touchdown and both conversion points behind the clutch blocking of Joseph P. Kaplan.

Too Cold

Lowell picked up an easy victory when Dudley was unable to field a team yesterday. The most exciting game, however, was the one between Quincy and Kirkland. Late in the first half, with the score tied 0-0, the contest was called off as the low temperature caused the antiquated face guards to break.

Two crucial games are slated for next Tuesday. First-place Eliot meets prime contender Kirkland, while cellar-dwellers Quincy and Dudley will fight it out for eight place. Leverett, one of the three undefeated teams, plays Adams, while Lowell faces third-place Dunster.
