Center forward Charlie Thomas scored three more goals, upping his team-leading total to 14--as Harvard's unbeaten freshman soccer team trounced an uninspired Andover squad 6-1 yesterday at Andover.

The Crimson Yardlings have now won six games straight this year and are unbeaten in 17 games over three years.

Andover never recovered from the 1-2 scoring punch delivered by the Crimson late in the first period. The prep team suffered its one-goal lead first to be tied, and then outdone, by Harvard in the short space of 15 seconds.

"Good, Quick, Hard"

Harvard coach Dana Getchell said, "When you're nursing a one-goal lead as Andover was, and you see it taken away by two good, quick, hard shots in fifteen seconds, it really takes the starch out of you."

If the one-two punch gave Harvard an invincible aura, the third goal, just a minute into the second period iced the game. The third score was powerhouse Charlie Thomas' second goal of the afternoon, this time unassisted, "After that, they must have decided we were in another league because they seemed to let down a lot," Getchell said.

By the end of the second quarter, the score was 4-1, and the Crimson reserves played most of the second half. Getchell was able to use 25 men in all.

Right wing Russ Bell received a pulled groin in yesterday's win. It was the only Harvard injury. He will probably miss the Crimson's tough game with the University of Connecticut on Saturday.
