Hugh M. Raup, expert in forestry and plant geography and Director of the Harvard Forest, retires from Harvard of Forestry, Emeritus.
He directed research at two outdoor laboratories: the Harvard Forest in Petersham, Mass. and Black Rock Forest in New York State.

In other news the Medical School an Surdna Foundation, Inc., of New York. This gift has enabled the Faculty of Medicine to establish a new professorship and has added substantially to a teaching and research fund.
Of the $1 million gift, $600,000 goes to fund the Julai Dyckman Andrus Chair. The remainder has been added to the John E. Andrus Teaching and Research Fund.

In the Graduate School of Business Administration, Gene W. Dalton has been named Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior. He had been assistant professor since 1962.
