Leo Shines for Pats In Professional Debut

All those uninformed people who thought Bobby Leo '67 was too small to make the pros were proved magnificently wrong Saturday afternoon when the former Harvard great his professional debut with the Boston Patriots.

The Patriots--unfortunately, but incidentally--lost to the Buffalo Bills, 44-16, but there was no defeat for Leo or his loyal fans, whose months of waiting were well rewarded.

Leo returned kickoffs and punts--for an average of 22 yards apiece--and nearly broke loose on one punt return in the second quarter, which he managed to carry back 50 yards. In the final period, with the game already decided, Leo caught a 27-yard pass from Babe Parilli for a touchdown, one of the few sunny moments for the Patriots in a long afternoon.
