Harvard's varsity fencers get one try for an Ivy League win as they front cellar-dwellar Yale today in Haven.

Crimson forces will be alighting, since second foil man Tom liner will be competing at the New land Intercollegiate tournament--which he may win. But the sabre and teams will face Yale intact.

The Elis have only one victory year, a slim 14-13 decision over inept Holy Cross. Harvard has creamed Holy Cross twice, 22-5 and 19-8.

Poor Yale

In seven other matches, Yale has never scored more more than nine points. Penn bombed Yale, 26-1. So did Columbia, 23-4, Cornell, 21-6; and Princeton. 20-7.

Harvard has had a dismal Ivy season, with no wins in four tries. But at least the Crimson has come close, losing Princeton and Cornell by only one point. Harvard trounced C.C.N.Y., 17-10, while C.C.N.Y. clipped Yale 18-9.

With no returning lettermen from last year's winless squad, the Elis are experienced. Captain Roger Newton, former benchwarmer in epee, is Yale best fencer.
