Crimson Fencers To Face M.I.T.

Harvard's varsity fencers will emerge from the lethargy of exams and intercession to take on M.I.T. tonight at 7 p.m.

The Crimson snatched the last M.I.T. encounter before Christmas, 17-10, with second-stringers. They should have little trouble dumping the Engineers again.

M.I.T.'s only top-notch fencer is captain Paul Churinoff in foil. In December, Churinoff won two out of three bouts against the Crimson. If Harvard coach Edo Marion uses second-stringers again, Churinoff could win three bouts.

The swordsmen are 7-2 for the season, but most of the wins have come at the expense of third-rate teams. The brightest plume in the Crimson fencing cap this year has been the 17-10 creaming of C.C.N.Y. Harvard lost to powers N.Y.U., 18 to 9, and Columbia, 20 to 7.
