Harvard Sword Team Tops Engineers, 20-7

Harvard's varsity fencers defeated M.I.T. last night, 20-8, as a warm-up for Saturday's Ivy clash with Penn.

The Crimson foil swordsmen took seven of nine bouts. Captain Rick Kolombatovich won three, including a 5-3 triumph over M.I.T. captain George Churinoff. Harvard's all-Ivy Tom Musliner also clipped Churinoff 5 to 1 for his third win of the match. Sophomore Chuch Lovell captured the final bout in foil, edging Engineer Peter Asbek, 5-4.

Bob Damus paced the Crimson sabremen to a 7-2 triumph by allowing only four touches in his three bouts. M.I.T.'s Bob Fall suffered the only shutout of the match at the hands of Damus. AlMakaitis and Dave Redmond both captured two bouts for Harvard.

Harvard's Steve Shea faltered in his first epee bout, but recovered to take his other one, 5-3. Sophomore Harry Jergensen won two of his three contests by 5-4 margins but dropped the third by the same score.

The Crimson epee men clipped the Engineers, 6-3.
