Sever Rooms Closed As Ceiling Falls Again

Two Sever Hall classrooms were ordered closed by Massachusetts Public Safety inspectors late yesterday, after a chunk of ceiling fell in on room 36 for the second time in three days.

State Inspector James W. Cosgrove declared the classrooms "unsafe and hazandous," and barred students from using them at least until further inspection Monday. Several pieces of furniture were damaged by the falling plaster slabs, but no one was injured.

Cecil A. Roberts, Director of Buildings and Grounds, said that the University inspects all buildings at least once a year. "We will conduct an immediate and thorough inspection of all Sever classrooms," he added. "We hope to have the two closed rooms ready for use by Moss.
