Timothy F. Leary, arrested again Tuesday in New York for violating a narcotics regulation, told reporters that a majority of Harvard students use LSD.
Leary was a lecturer in Clinical Psychology until the Corporation fired him in May 1963 for neglecting his teaching duties.
He was arrested at La Guardia Airport upon his return from Toronto, Canada, for failing to comply with a law which requires narcotics convicts to register with Customs. He was convicted last spring in Laredo, Texas, of transporting and concealing marijuana.
Learn was arraigned in Brooklyn Federal Court and released without bail, pending action by a grand jury. The maximum sentence on this new charge is three years in prison and $1000 fine. The Texas conviction, which he is appealing, carries, up to 30 years and $30,000

In court, Leary gave his occupation as "president of a religious organization-- the League of Spiritual Discovery, which communes by means of LSD, peyote, and marijuana--and he promptly began to proselytize.
"The United States is an insane asylum. LSD is the only solution for a world facing warfare and rioting," he told reporters. "In ten years," he prophesized, "20 to 30 million Americans will be using LSD regularly."
In addition to his allegation about Harvard students, Leary said that thousands of students in colleges and high schools across the nation are making LSD in school laboratories.
