To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
I would like to express to you the dismay which I felt--and which many persons of my acquaintance share--toward your handling of the recent Class Marshal elections. I believe that you contorted facts, if you did not distort them, to convey to you readers the personal contempt and great amusement with which you viewed the entire affair.
I found in both you news stories and your editorial an attempt to create from something that is very important to many people a source for in-joke humor. This type of humor is more appropriately and skillfully presented to the Harvard community by another student publication.
This type of handling, on your part, constitutes a vulgarization of the journalistic craft to which you are ostensibly claimants. Martin B. Vidgoff '66
