Harvard's squash team, continuing a healthy tradition, blanked Cornell Saturday, 9 to 0, to open the Ivy League season.

It was Harvard's fifth consecutive shutout victory over the Big Red.

Despite the absence of its fifth, sixth, and seventh players, the Crimson squad had no trouble winning in the bottom half of the ladder. Peter Brooks, at number five, was extended to four games by Cornell's Frank Gold, 15-5, 11-15, 15-12, 18-14.

Harvard won all the other matches by 3-0 scores.

In the bottom four matches. Matt Hall, Gordon Black, John Harwood, and John Whitbock adjusted to their new positions and romped with ease.

Captain Dinny Adams. Jose Gonzales, Rick Sterne, and Todd Wilkinson, the top four Crimson players, were never pressed. Wilkinson turned in the wipe of the day, 15-2, 15-0, 15-7, over Cornell's Bill Schiener.
