To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
It was not without some degree of shock and disbelief that I read the Jan. 5 article on the University's view of narcotics. It would seem that the Health Services is being overly casual in view of the fact that, despite is alleged harmlessness, marijuana often leads to the use of more potent, addictive narcotics.
Even if this concern does not worry him there is no reason for Dr. Blaine to virtually promote the use of marijuana. Will we next hear the cry--"Dope man--I got cocaine, heroin, opium, bennies, peyote, and mari-WAN-nah"? George H. Arnold '68
