Left tackle Neal Curtin will miss Saturday's game against Bucknell and may be out of action several more weeks with a knee injury.
The 200-pound senior, injured in the second quarter of the Massachusetts game, had been off to his best start ever. He may have torn ligaments, in which case he'll be back soon, but it could be cartilage trouble, which would probably sideline him for the season.
Sophomore Steve Diamond, who filled in after Curtin was hurt Saturday, will probably start against Bucknell. John Hoffman, 235-pound starting left guard, may be shifted to tackle to fill in for Curtin.
Junior guard Bob Barrett, who missed the UMass game with an injury, will return Saturday. Barrett and Gene Skowronski give the Crimson two lettermen behind Hoffman at left guard, while Curtin and Joe Jurek are the only experienced tackles.
Another player who missed Saturday's game, sophomore halfback Bobby Leo, will be ready to go against Bucknell.
Curtin's injury was the most serious Harvard suffered. Quarterback John McCluskey (hamstring pull), end Ken Boyda (shoulder), and Diamond (both ankles) may miss practices early this week, but both should be back for the game.
