Well, picnic fans, it looks like rain today. The weatherman dampened the hopes of thousands of eager picnic-goers this morning by forecasting cloudiness, possible thunder-showers, and generally nasty weather for today.
His early-morning prediction should raise his wetting streak to two days. Things were looking relatively bright for the Classmates until about 8 p.m. yesterday. During the day, less than a tenth of an inch of rain had fallen in the Boston area. Drought conditions still prevailed, the Weather Bureau maintained.
But then the sky fell in. Thousands Cambridge as a cold front slammed of raindrops splattered down on in from the North leaving a quarter of an inch of water in its wake.
"This cold front is a pretty slow ther Bureau. It will hang over the mover," said the man from the Wea-Hub like a dark gray cloud all through the day.
