NEW HAVEN, Feb. 29--The Harvard hockey team finally hit its stride tonight taking advantage of every Yale mistake and making few of its own, to multilate the Elis 12-2.

But despite the landslide, weekend victories by Dartmouth and Brown virtually eliminated the Crimson from the Ivy title race; only a miraculous series of Dartmouth and Brown losses would give Harvard first place.

Every forward on the squad chipped in with a point or more to help bury Yale: Gene Kinasewich led the parade with two goals and four assists. Ike Ikauniks, Bill Fryer and defenseman John Daly also picked up two goals; Bill Lamarche had one and three assists, while Baldy Smith picked up four assists.

Dick Williamson gave the Elis a short-lived 1-0 lead when he poked a shot past Brandy Sweltzer at 1:48 with Kinasewich in the penalty box. It took just a minute and twenty seconds for Daly to tie it up on a slap pass off Smith's pass. Ikauniks put Harvard ahead for good four minutes later when he slid Lamarche's pass under Yale goalie Mike Hanson.

Harvard wound up with five goals in the period; they added two in the second and five more in the third. Meanwhile Sweitzer and Wade Welch minded the nets flawlessly for the last 50 minutes.
