HOCKEY

Dartmouth's hockey team (5-1-0), belted winless Yale 3-2 Saturday to hold the Ivy league lead, while Brown (4-1-1) and Cornell (4-2-1) were fighting to a tie. But this weekend may mark the beginning of the end for the Indians; they face a rugged Cornell squad in the first of three crucial clashes with other league leaders.

Before the season ends March 7, the Indians have a rematch with Cornell and also have to face stubborn Brown, as well as Princeton (1-4-0).

Harvard (3-3-0) can't be counted out if they beat Brown Saturday. After the Brown game, the Crimson faces only the patster--Yale and Princeton--for the rest of the year. If the leaders lose enough games, Harvard can still back into a share of the title.

SQUASH

Harvard (4-0) wrapped up the Ivy League squash title last weekend by squeezing past Princeton, 5 to 4. Mean-while, an amazing Cornell team (2-1), which lost to Harvard earlier in the year 9-0, whipped Penn 5-4. The Big Red had earlier demonstrated Yale's ineptitude by whipping the Elis 6-3. It was the first time Yale had ever lost to Cornell in squash.

WRESTLING

The Crimson matmen's chance to repeat last year's second-place finish suffered a jolt when Penn (3-1) whipped Yale (1-2) by an 18-13 margin. The Quakers squeaked past Harvard earlier, 16-15; if the Crimson is to tie Penn for second place behind Cornell, someone is going to have to beat the Quakers. The last hope is Columbia; Harvard squeaked past the Lions 16-14 this weekend. Since Columbia has yet to wrestle Cornell, the Lions are almost certain to drop at least one more match; if they do upset Penn, all three teams will wind up tied for second.
