The Dunster House Committee has voted unanimously to support the proposal that the Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs be abolished and replaced with two new organizations, Peter W. Tague '65, chairman of the Committee said last night.

The proposal, presented by the HCUA executive committee last week, calls for the formation of a Harvard Undergraduate Council (HUC) to express student opinion and coordinate "essential services" and a Harvard Policy Committee (HPC) to "initiate studies of general interest."

The Dunster House Committee's action--the first expression of student opinion on the proposal--will bind its HCUA representative to vote for the recommended changes. The committee also suggested a possible modification in the proposal. "We think it would be better if the chairman of the HPC were elected by its own members rather than being appointed by the Undergraduate Council," Tague said.

H. Reed Ellis '65, chairman of the HCUA, will outline the executive committee's recommendations tonight at a special meeting of the HCUA. Dean Monro, Dean Watson, Dean von Stade, the House Masters and the chairmen of House committees have been invited to attend. The meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. on the 10th floor of Holyoke Center.
