The H-R Combined Charities Drive will run through Monday because late parietals Tuesday night sharply reduced contributions. The drive began last Monday and had been scheduled to end today.
Benjamin F. Stapleton III '65, chairman of the drive, predicted yesterday that the total amount collected this year would be about the same as last year. The 1963 drive fell about $2500 short of its $30,000 goal, he said.
With three days of soliciting to go, Stapleton reported that about $25,400 had been raised. Although contributions from most of the Houses are still below the drive's goals, he said, Winthrop's total is already six per cent over. He noted that Claverly had also exceeded predictions.
Radcliffe, with a partial total of $4350, is slightly above its final total for last year but far below its goal of $6000. Stapleton ascribed the deficit to an over-optimistic estimate rather than any Cliffie apathy.
