Crowds of people will march to Boston Common this afternoon to express their distaste for the Presidential candidacy of Sen. Barry Goldwater.
Students from almost every college in the Boston area will march from the Dudley St. station in Roxbury, Kenmore Square, and Memorial Drive at M.I.T. to the Common, where four speakers will denounce the Presidential nominee.
The rally has gained new support during the past week, according to cochairman Peter Cummings '66, and approximately 5000 are expected at the Common.
Two more Harvard organizations have added their endorsement to the march and rally, now sponsored by about fifteen groups. Both the Civil Rights Coordinating Committee and Republicans and Independents for Johnson will participate.
Walter S. Mack '65, chairman of the Republicans and Independents group, explained that the march can be construed as one more way to demonstrate opposition to the Arizonan's capture of the Republican Party.
Mark DeWolfe Howe '28, professor of Law, Canon James P. Breeden of the Massachusetts Freedom Movement, Joseph Salerno, international vice-president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, and Richard Cotton '65, president of the CRIMSON, will address the group at the Common.
