Harvard's red-hot ice hockey team renews its Ivy League struggles against Cornell tomorrow in Ithaca. Despite its 4-2 win over B.C. Wednesday and its five-game winning streak, the Crimson can't afford to relax. In Ivy competition, Harvard holds a 0-1 record and another loss would severely hamper the Crimson's pursuit of its fourth straight title.
But the Cornell sextet hasn't demonstrated any blinding brilliance, playing quite erratically, not unlike its Harvard opponent. The Big Red is, however, presently atop the Ivy League standings with two wins and no losses.
Naturally the figures are misleading since Cornell just squeaked by an inexperienced Princeton team, 5-4, Wednesday and was beaten by Yale in a holiday tournament, 5-2. Barring a sudden collapse in the last three minutes of play, Harvard should gain its first Ivy victory.
