The varsity tennis team plastered Army at West Point last year by a 9-0 score. Today's return match may not be quite that one-sided, but the outcome promises to be the same.
Against a Crimson powerhouse that has lost only to Princeton, Army will send exactly two tennis players. In the number one and two spots, brothers William Oehrlein and A1 Oehrlein will have more than a decent chance against Harvard's Paul Sullivan and Frank Ripley.
Brothers Are a Threat
The elder Oehrlein has beaten Yale's Mike Neely, who managed to beat Sullivan last year. Brother A1, playing at number two, has beaten Princeton's Harold German and must rank as a real threat in today's tilt.
Even if the Oehrleins emerge victorious, Crimson depth should prove too much for lesser Cadet netmen. Vic Niederhoffer, Chum Steele, Doug Walter, and Sandy Walter could conceivably sweep their opponents in the home contest.
