The Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs last night endorsed a Winthrop House Committee proposal to name the planned tenth House John Fitzgerald Kennedy House.

Before approving the idea by an over-whelming majority, the Council rejected a motion to postpone consideration until "the wave of emotion" created by the late President's assassination had subsided.

In other actions the Council approved the report on language instruction at Harvard by a sub-committee of the Committee on Educational Audit, and approved the constitution of the Harvard-Radcliffe Psychology Society. The 34-page language report presents criticism of first-year language teaching and offers a model for introductory courses.

Although the report was speedily passed, the psychology society constitution prompted a protracted debate on the procedure for considering constitutions. Many members felt they had not been given, sufficient time to study the document and objected to its immediate presentation. Others argued, successfully, that the Society should not be made a victim of HCUA procedural problems.

The Council was informed it would have a committee report on parietals Wednesday and heard its chairman warn that parietals might be taken up at today's Faculty meeting. "I've never seen so much internal politicking" in the Faculty and Administration, the chairman observed.
