The Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs has done useful and often unrewarded work in studying and trying to improve the conditions of undergraduate life. Thus the students recently elected to the Council are to be congratulated for their eagerness to continue the Council's labors.
However, three of the candidates ran unopposed, and in Quincy House no one bothered to run at all. When so many seats are available without contest, it is hard o believe that the Council represents anyone but the handful of students on it. Members of the Administration or of the Council who would claim that the Council's opinion necessarily reflects that of the whole student body are stretching a few of the facts.
