New 'American Table' Will Focus on Sports

The Quincy House American Table, organized "to reactivate the essentially American interests," met for the first time last night. Harold Furasch, reportedly "a top adviser to the Boston Celtics," spoke after dinner.

President James J. Gaffney '64 said that he thought Patriotic interests had been "overshadowed by the "Longhairs--the Communist table, the Young Atheists, table, and so forth." The group will focus on Sports.

"Hopefully the next speaker will be Tom McNeely," said Gaffney. "We have a partial commitment from him." McNeely, a heavyweight boxer, once lasted three rounds against Floyd Patterson.

Although the table is loosely organized, Gaffney hopes that it will "perpetuate itself." John M. Bullitt, Master of Quincy House, added "I'm all for this."
