Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs to breakfast, thump, thump, thump. Sometimes Winnie-the-Pooh tells him a story when he comes downstairs. This morning--
"Once upon a time," said Winnie-the-Pooh, "a man named Frederick C. Crews tried to write a book about critics."
"And about us," added Kanga.
"And about us," said Pooh. "So each chapter is a study of us written by a different type of critic."
"Oh!" said a pink Heffalump. "That sounds like it could be very funny." Owl nodded sagely.
So Winnie-the-Pooh began to read the book. And he read and read. And after a while it wasn't funny. First the Owl and then even Edward Bear guessed all the lines. So they stopped reading.
But the book goes on. Thump, thump, thump.
