To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
Your article concerning our efforts to secure permission for travel to Cuba was for the most part a good one. I write only to clear up confusion resulting from an unfortunate headline and a somewhat ambiguous quote.
It is in no way our purpose to "foil leftist student's plans" to travel to Cuba. I firmly believe that the government has no right to consider political motivation when considering passport validation. Travel is a right, not a privilege reserved for those whose politics measure up to pre-determined standards.
Our efforts are not based on any claim that we deserve to see Cuba more than others. We are interested in going and believe that such interest alone should validate our passports. Peter H. Darrow '64
