Coach Cooney Weiland shuffled his first two lines tonight and the switch paid off as the Crimson hockey team routed Dartmouth, 6-1, at Dartmouth.
Weiland switched Gene Kinaseweich, scoreless in his last three games, to the second line alongside Baldy Smith and Bill Lamarche. Barry Treadwell moved up to the first line, joining Tim Taylor and Ike Ikauniks.
Kinasweich broke his slump with a goal and an assist, while Ikauniks led the Crimson scorers with two goals.
But Bill Lamarche saw his scoring streak broken when he was shut out by the Dartmouth defense. Lamarche had scored in his last 11 games.
The game started badly for the Crimson when Dartmouth Captain Jack Phalen scored the first goal after 4:00 of the first period. But Bruce Thomas retaliated for Harvard 34 seconds later to tie the score. Ikauniks scored twice later in the period and the Crimson was never again in trouble.
The victory tonight moved the team into a tie for first place in the Ivy League with Brown. Both teams have won two league games and they played a 4-4 tie Dec. 16. It was the eighth win of the year for the Crimson sextet. The team has tied two games and has lost only to non-league Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
