Harvard supporters gave a record total of $1,338,563 to the University this year, almost $300,000 more than last year. Although the Harvard Fund campaign fell short by some $250,000 of its goal -- $1,500,000 from 20,000 givers--next year's goal has been set at $2,000,000.
The Fund attained its all-time high as David McCord '21 retires as executive director, after serving with the Fund since its founding in 1925. McCord is one of the country's best known alumni officials, and doubles as a poet and essayist.
The class of 1937 presented the largest 25th reunion gift ever, raising $242,033 during the past year, for a total of $862,703 since its graduation.
