Northwestern is about the same size as Harvard, and has the same kind of nebulous, sprawling campus. One thing that does make Northwestern different, however -- at least from the point of view of the professor of Education -- is the undergraduate education program. In this program a student concentrates in some regular academic discipline but also takes a series of half courses in education.
The students also take a quarter off to teach in a local secondary school.
